Things You'll Need:
- Christmas Tree
- Anchoring supplies
- Sugar Cookie dough
- Gingerbread cookie dough
- Popcorn balls
- Strings of Popcorn
- Strings of Kix or other Cereal
-
Step 1
First, I highly recommend anchoring your Christmas tree to the wall. See my article on how to do this: http://www.ehow.com/how_4668954_anchor-christmas-tree.html
-
Step 2
Second, you will want to make sugar cookies, gingerbread cookies and any other fairly versatile decoratable cookie! Before baking them punch a hole in the top center of them. Although you don't want to use a pencil, make the hole about the diameter of the pencil. Remember when the cookies bake, the hole will close a little bit as the cookie rises.
-
Step 3
After the cookies are decorated, baked, and cooled, string yarn through the holes and tie a knot in the yarn.
-
Step 4
String popcorn and/or Kix or other cereal. Use as a garland around the Christmas tree.
-
Step 5
Decorate the tree with the cookies and popcorn balls.

on 12/10/2008 Anchoring is something I've never done. Good idea. This is what we came up with this year to save me grief.
