Step 1
Do not hang your silk cashmere sweater in your closet. This is exactly how I got several holes in my cashmere sweater. It is in a perfect place for the moth to chew on.
-
Step 2
Get a small plastic bag, put moth balls in it. Seal it and poke several small holes with a needle. You should avoid direct contact between the moth ball and your silk cashmere sweater.
-
Step 3
Get a larger plastic bag; put the small plastic bag with moth balls and your silk cashmere sweater in it. Seal the opening.
-
Step 4
If you discover small holes in your silk cashmere sweater, you can repair it yourself by either patching it from the inside or sew it up.
-
Step 5
If you discover medium to big holes in your silk cashmere sweater, it might need to get rewoven by a professional.

on 12/9/2008 Great tips. If you decide the sweater is ruined, you can give it to a crafter to turn into wool felt for crafts.
