Since taking beautiful pictures has become easier and more accessible, you may be wondering how you can show off your photographs to the world, and even make a few extra dollars doing so. Selling your digital photographs is a fun and interesting way to broadcast your creativity, as well as help to supplement your income.

- Three-Ring Binder
- Loose-Leaf Paper (100 pages)
- Pen or Pencil
- Computer
- Internet Access
- 5-MegaPixel Digital Camera, or greater
- Model Release Form

Purchase a digital camera that has at least five megapixels. Many stock image websites that purchase photographs, have strict policies regarding the megapixels that an images must have. Purchase a camera with at least seven megapixels to allow for image enlargements.

Print off 100 model release forms, which you can easily find on the Internet. You will use these release forms when you photograph people, such as your friends, family or strangers. In order to place photographs up for sale that contain people, everyone in the image must sign a Model Release Form for legal purposes. Any website that sells your photographs, or any buyer, will require a copy of the Model Release Form for images that contain people.

Gather all of your pictures, and create categories for your images. Your categories should also have subcategories so that you can easily keep track of them.
Create names for each of your photographs so you can easily categorize them and find a specific image without having to search through computer-generated names, which are often numbers and various letters. -

Place 100 pages of loose-leaf paper into a three-ring binder and organize your existing photographs into the categories you created in the above step. Always leave enough space to add additional images into all of your categories. Your headings should be the Image Name, Image Date, Models in the Image, Model Release Signed (Yes or No), along with any other information that needs to be documented.

Search the Internet for various websites that allow you to sale your photographs. Such websites as Fotolia, I Stock Photo, and Shutter Point allow you to sell your digital photographs through their site. Before you place your photographs on these, or any other website, make sure that you review the royalty payment policy.

Always categorize your photographs after you have taken them to ensure they don't get lost in various files. Use photo-enhancing software to enhance your pictures and give them a more professional appearance. Take at least ten frames of an item you are shooting, the more options you have, the better the chances of having a truly beautiful picture.
Never place your photographs on a website to sell until you have learned their business operations, such as royalty payments, when payments are made and promotional efforts. Always use Model Release Forms to prevent legal problems. Research any site before submitting your photographs.
