How to Make Egg Carton Easter Chicks in a Basket

Children generally love to do crafts and they love to feel that they are a part of the holiday decorating. This Easter craft can keep them busy for hours and they can use these little chicks to decorate all over the house. You will probably find that you already have most of the needed supplies around the house. So when the kids say, "I'm bored," just pull out the egg cartons and let them go to town.

• Large yellow pompom Medium yellow pompom Wiggly eyes Pipe cleaner Glue Egg carton Craft foam Easter grass

1. Cut one cup from the egg carton. If the carton is cardboard, paint it to look like a basket. If it is made of Styrofoam, glue brown strips of craft foam on to look like a basket.

2. Glue the large and medium yellow pompoms together. Glue wiggly eyes on the medium pompom. Cut two tiny triangles from orange foam and bend them to look like a beak and glue them on that way.

3. Attach a pipe cleaner from one side of the basket to the other on the inside of the cup, using glue. Place some Easter grass inside the basket and then place the chick on top of the grass.
