How to Become a Witch/Warlock in The Sims 2: Apartment Life

One of the coolest new additions to Apartment Life is the ability to make your Sims into magic users! Female Sims become Witches, male Sims become Warlocks. Witches and Warlocks can cast a variety of spells, transport themselves around and enjoy a range of perks not open to normal Sims. So how do you become a Witch or Warlock?

• The Sims 2
• The Sims 2: Apartment Life expansion
• The Sims 2: Open For Business (optional)

1. Find a Witch or Warlock. The easiest way is to visit a community lot and wait for one to show up. At least one Witch or Warlock will be present at a community lot. You must choose which kind of magic user you want to be. You can start off as good or evil. Good magic users wear white robes, evil users wear black.

2. Become their friend. In order to learn the magic arts, you must befriend a Witch or a Warlock. Socially, they are no different from any other Sim. They respond as any other Sim would to jokes, compliments and conversation.

3. Ask the Witch/Warlock to teach you the magical arts. This becomes a dialog option in the Ask menu once you become friends with the magic user. Doing so will make your Sim into a Witch or a Warlock.

4. Go home and get started. As a Witch/Warlock, you will be given two items: a Dangerous Cauldron and a Grandiose Grimoire. Both are essential to furthering your career as a magic user. The Cauldron allows you to create reagents for potions while the Grimiore allows you to learn more spells by studying it.

5. Visit the magical lots. Once you become a magic user, you will gain access to two special lots: the Fortress of Eternal Darkness and the Palace of Neverending Light. Both are there to aid you in your quest for more magic. You can buy potions, buy reagents, speak to the Grand Witch/Warlock about magic or you can study there.

Tips & Warnings

• Knowledge-aspiration Sims make the best Witches and Warlocks.
• If your Sim owns a business and you don’t want to wait for a Witch or Warlock to show up, earn and use the “Call Anyone” ability to call a magic user to you.
• Like Vampires, some Sims do not want to become Witches and Warlocks. Be prepared to reverse the process if it turns out your Sim doesn’t want the gift of magic.
