1
Spray paint the pinecone white. You do not need to spray it completely, but only pass the white spray over it once or twice. This will make the pinecone look as if it is a little snowy.
-
2
Sprinkle glitter on the pinecone before the paint dries. The glitter will stick to the paint and add a subtle shine to the "snow." If you do not have time to paint, then you can use a glitter glue or fabric paint pen to apply the glitter directly to the petals of the cone.

3
Glue a loop of red ribbon to the bottom of the pinecone. This will allow you to hang the ornament when you are done. Use a large amount of glue to insure that the cone hangs securely. The flat base of the cone is now the top of the ornament.
-
4
Glue the holly sprigs and the red velvet bow to the top of the cone. They will cover the blob of glue holding the ribbon in place. Lay the holly sprigs so that they overlap the edges of the cone, then place the ribbon so that the tails trail over the edges.
-
5
Allow the ornament to dry for about 20 minutes. It should be in a warm, dry place. Hot glue dries quickly, so your ornament should be ready to hang or use in other ways at the end of that span of time.

Tips & Warnings
You can use other accents to dress up your pinecone as well, such as jingle bells, mistletoe or even small, wrapped Christmas gifts.
Always use spray paint in a well ventilated area, or outside if possible.
