How to Become an Omnivore in the Cell Phase of Spore
Becoming an omnivore isn't as easy as becoming a carnivore or an herbivore. Instead of starting off as an omnivore, you have to work for it. There are two possible routes to becoming an omnivore. Note that becoming an omnivore in the Cell Phase allows you to find omnivore mouths in the Creature Phase.

1
Start out as a carnivore. This is important for the first route to becoming an omnivore. The carnivore mouth is capable of being used as a weapon to kill and eat other cells. The first way to become an omnivore is to kill a particular creature for its mouth.

2
Look for a green cell with a long tube snout. This is the creature you must catch and kill to obtain the omnivore mouth, the "proboscis". The cell you must catch is very fast. Your best bet is to chase it into a floating object. That way, it either slows down or stops long enough for you to damage or destroy it.

3
Grab the body part that appears when you kill the cell with the snout. Once you have this, call a mate and produce a new generation with the snout for a mouth. From here on out, your creature will have the option of being an omnivore.

4
Alternatively, start saving up some DNA. You will need at least fifteen. You can start as either an herbivore or a carnivore.
-
5
Give your cell both the filter mouth and the jaw mouth. Make sure they are close together, at the head of your cell. This makes it easy for your cell to eat both plants and meat.
-
6
Eat an equal amount of plants and meat until you are ready to go on land. This will turn you into an omnivore. Check your evolution graph from time to time. This will give you an idea of which way you're leaning. If you find yourself dipping into carnivore status, eat more plants. If you find the bar moving too high, eat more meat.
