Step 1
Use traditional Christmas carols for the prelude. Traditional carols are a beautiful way to start out the wedding and put guests in a festive mood while they are being seated and waiting for the ceremony to begin. Some spiritual choices include "O Come All Ye Faithful", "Joy to the World," "Silent Night" and "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear." These choices are older carols that are well known and uplifting, which make them suitable for a Christmas wedding.

Step 2
Choose music that inspires you. Do you have a favorite Christmas song that you've always loved? "O Holy Night" would be a fitting song for a wedding. There are plenty of Christmas love songs too. If you don't have a favorite Christmas song, get some ideas by listening to Christmas CDs or Christmas songs online. You want to settle on something that touches your heart.
-
Step 3
Select lighter post-ceremony music. While your ceremony music may be a slow, solemn song after the ceremony--as you walk back up the aisle and in the reception--you can go with lighter, upbeat songs. Some that would work: "Jingle All the Way," "Oh Christmas Tree" and "Have a Holly, Jolly Christmas."
-
Step 4
Pick songs that match the instruments or vocalists you have chosen for the wedding music. Some songs will sound beautiful done by a vocalist while others may be better for a piano, organ or harp. An easily recognizable Christmas song will work as an instrumental, while lesser known songs might be better for a vocalist so your wedding guests can hear the words of the songs.

Step 5
Include traditional wedding music choices. Although it's expected that you'd choose holiday-themed music for your wedding, feel free to include oldie, but goodie wedding favorites too and any other music you want played at your wedding.
