Wash the face two to three times a day. Cleansing the face with unscented soap or face cleanser can prevent pimples. Throughout the day, oils and dirt collect on the face. Bacteria from oils and dirt can find their way into skin pores and cause breakouts. Washing the face removes make-up and bacteria. It also reduces the number of breakouts.

Drink plenty of water. A quick and simple way to prevent pimples is to drink at least eight glasses of water a day. Sweating releases impurities in the body. These impurities can cause breakouts on any part of the body. Drinking water flushes the body and reduces impurities.

Eat fruits and vegetables. Often times, excessive oil causes pimples. If this is the case, the best way to prevent pimples is to reduce oil on the face and body. Fruits and vegetables can minimize body oils and stop breakouts.

Keep a food journal. The acid in juices, soda and fruits can result in unsightly acne. In addition, mild allergic reactions can cause breakouts on the face and body. If unable to control pimples with water and face cleansers, food may be the culprit. Record all meals and identify foods that trigger acne.

Apply over-the-counter or prescription pimple cream. If natural treatments are ineffective, use a daily pimple or acne cream. Start with an over-the-counter cream. If this doesn’t work, see a doctor and ask for a prescription. Because pimple creams can dry the skin, apply a daily moisturizer.
