To pluck or not to pluck? This is a question that has plagued men for years. The decision to pluck, wax or shave men's eyebrows is always up for debate. There is a big difference between arching and shaping your eyebrows. Arching is the act of trimming and adding a defined point to the natural arch of your eyebrow. Shaping, is the act of cleaning up excess hair between and around the brow so that the natural shape is more prominent without any extra arching.

Things You'll Need:

  • Brow blade
  • Brow brush/Lash comb

First, decide which method you would like to use. The most painless way to get rid of excess hair, is to use a brow razor. This is the easiest method for beginners to use, since waxing takes more time and precision to do. Brow razors come in all shapes and sizes for you to choose from.

  2. Step 2

Use a brow brush to brush your eyebrows in an upward slant. A brow brush usually comes with a lash brush attached to it, therefore don't be surprised when you purchase one.

  3. Step 3

Once you have brushed them, look at the area in between your two eyebrows. If there is hair there, carefully shave it off in an upward motion, using the blade. Make sure you get rid of the hair that causes the "uni-brow" and nothing more. Don't trim the area where you natural brow starts, near the eyes.

  4. Step 4

Look at the brows again and look for any hairs that stick up and out. If there are hairs that are not in line with the others, you must slowly shave the hair off. Perform this in small increments for all loose hairs.

  5. Step 5

Once you have trimmed all of the excess hairs, brush your brows again and make sure that all of the strays are gone. Your brows should now have a clean, smooth and even shape.

  6. Step 6

Apply rubbing alcohol to the areas that you shaved to avoid razor bumps. You may also want to use a moisturizer or balm to smooth over the area once the alcohol has dried.
