Step 1
Create an affiliates page. You will need to post a text- box with the link code in it and an example of what the completed code will look like. I recommend giving two options, one that is graphical and one that is text based. See the example or check this link.

Step 2
Periodically go to blogsearch.google.com. Type in link:URL (ex. ‘link:http://einquisitive.com/blog/’). This will return a list of sites which have linked to yours. Add a link to all of these URL’s on your site so they get the same benefit as you.
-
Step 3
Join others affiliate programs. Lots of sites are already running programs like this. Join in on their programs by adding them to your affiliate list and following their instructions to get your link on their sites. Specific agreements vary depending on the site hosting the program.
-
Step 4
Advertise your affiliate program wherever possible. Social bookmarking can be very useful. You can also join communities like the one on this site, where lots of people will see your program and may choose to join.

on 10/8/2008 Great advice and examples. I have heard of an affiliates page before, but have never looked up how to make something like this work. I'm going to start working on driving traffic to my website right now. Thank you for your examples!
