Plan a Sweet Sixteen Party on a Budget

Sweet sixteen is an age to celebrate in many cultures. Having a sweet sixteen party does not have to be expensive. here are some tips to having a sweet sixteen party on a budget.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Start with sweet sixteen party invitations. You can create your own or get free invitation templets on the internet. Creating your own allows you to personalize the invite and saves money.

If you plan on having a large number of guests you can check out local
parks and recreation facilities. They usually have a community room or other activity building which can be rented at a low cost. Usually about $100.00 for the day.

  2. Step 2

    Decorate your sweet sixteen party

Hang white Christmas lights around the doorways and drape icicle light along the ceiling.

Place pictures of your sweet sixteen on the tables or create a collage of pictures and place on an easel by the front door. Try to pick baby pictures and pictures of your sweet sixteen at each stage of her life. This creates a great conversation piece for your guests.
    * you can play a game to guess the age of each picture.

  3. Step 3

Have the guys in your family pitch in by being DJ for the night. They can be responsible for keeping the party music going while you entertain the guests.

Play music that will motivate group dancing like the Electric Slide etc...

Try playing some oldies like The Swim, The twist etc.. this can be allot of fun for today's teens.

  4. Step 4

Another great party idea is to get customized m&ms at www.mymms.com. They are not that expensive and are great for making party favors.

You can save money by baking your own cake or cupcakes.

    Have fun!
