How to make homemade picture frames using plastic canvas

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 7 count plastic canvas Scrapbook paper Scissors Hot glue gun & glue sticks
  1. Step 1

First you need to either have your pictures laminated or invest in a laminating machine to laminate your pictures. If you do not laminate the pictures that you want to frame, they could fade and end up looking terrible.

You can make picture frames using plastic canvas, just scrap book paper and a hot glue gun. Using 7 count plastic canvas as a foundation, cut out the center of the canvas leaving a 1 inch border on each side and on the top and bottom. You should be able to see your picture in the center. Then lay your frame down on the back side of the scrape book paper and measure 1/8 inch of paper on each side and on the top and bottom, and then with the glue gun, glue the sides and the bottoms to the plastic canvas.

In the center of the home made picture frame, measure from the upper right corner to the lower left corner of the frame, and mark it by using a ruler, then draw a line. Turn the frame and repeat from the upper corner to the lower corner and make a mark. Then cut a big X and fold the paper out, and cut out the center, leaving a 1/8 inch boarder, all the way around, and glue the picture to the frame. Then glue a small piece of string to the back of the frame to hang it. If you like you can trim it out with beads, lace or anything you like.

  2. Step 2

In the center of the home made picture frame, measure from the upper right corner to the lower left corner of the frame, and mark it by using a ruler, then draw a line. Turn the frame and repeat from the upper corner to the lower corner and make a mark. Then cut a big X and fold the paper out, and cut out the center, leaving a 1/8 inch boarder, all the way around, and glue the picture to the frame

  3. Step 3

Then glue a small piece of string to the back of the frame to hang it. If you like you can trim it out with beads, lace or anything you like.
