Aging happens to everyone, but one can age gracefully. Finding the right anti-aging product for you can be a very stressful process. The skincare aisle is filled with thousands of beauty products that makes everybody's mind boggle. Follow these steps to find a secret to the right anti-aging skincare product for you!

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Patience
  • About $30 depending on what anti-aging product you buy
  1. Step 1

Find the right sunscreen for you. Make sure the sunscreen you are using really protects you from both UVA and UVB rays. Read the ingredients on the sunscreen bottle. Usually, the higher the percentages the higher the UVA ray protection. Use sunscreen if you have oily skin too, just find the right one.

  2. Step 2

Give a new product about a month to see if it really works. You skin needs time to react to a new product.

  3. Step 3

Retin-A has been scientifically proven to reduce wrinkles. Look at the percentages of retin-A in your skincare product. Retinol is a weaker form of retin-A. Find the retinol that is the strongest among the drugstore variations. Neutrogena and Roc has some of the stronger retinol skincare products.

  4. Step 4

Check out retinalddhyde. Retinalddhyde is another formation of retin-A and it is the strongest form that you can buy over-the-counter. Buy Eau Thermale Avene retinaldehyde products, they really are potent. Check out the Avene website for a store that carries their products near you or buy online.

  5. Step 5

Start off with a over-the-counter and see how your skin reacts. Call your dermatologist if you want a Retin-A prescription, for they are the strongest form.

  6. Step 6

Use only a pea-size of retinaldehyde for you whole face and another pea-size for your neck. Put retinaldehyde on your chest and hands if you desire anti-aging treatment there as well. Be sure to put sunscreen everywhere retinaldehyde touches and only use the product at night, because it will make you more photo-sensitive.

  7. Step 7

Start using a retinaldehyde product slowly, 3 days a week and work your way up. Put on moisturizer if needed, an hour after retinaldehyde. After you wash your face wait about 20 minutes before you put on the retinaldehyde treatment, so your face is at the right pH balance, therefore the treatment will work at its' full efficiency.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not add many new products all at once, give one product a month then add another one
  • Start slowly or it may be too strong for your skin
  • Flaky skin means the retinaldehyde is working, but not everybody's skin flakes
  • Remember to use just a pea-size dab, it is all you need and may make your bottle last about 6 months!
  • See a doctor if you skin reacts negatively
  • Do NOT use retinaldehyde if you are pregnant or nursing.

on 5/15/2009 Great tips! You are so right about not adding a lot of new products at once. As a lady with sensitive skin, I find using Neutrogena and Noxema do wonders. 5* Rec
