Instructions

    • 1

Pick out some stretchy material that looks good on you.

    • 2

Measure yourself around your widest point (generally the bosom or hips), add 1/8 of a yard to hat measurement and buy that amount with matching thread and the same length of elastic about 1/2" wide.

    • 3

Go home, strip and wrap the material around your body, holding the top above your bosom. Mark where the top end meets the fabric after wrapping it around.

    • 4

Cut from that mark, straight down to the edge of material (it will be at an angle).

    • 5

Fold ends together with the good side of material facing into the inside.

    • 6

Pin together at 4" intervals and sew together with a double straight stitch.

    • 7

Pull elastic around your bosom to a comfortable pressure and mark. Pin elastic to the top of the dress on the inside (the nice part) and sew a straight stitch on top and bottom. Fold over and sew this closed.

    • 8

Turn dress right side out and trim all loose threads.
Enjoy the heat and the looks as my fiance does.

Tips & Warnings

  • Talk to the fabric salesperson to make sure you have good stretchy material for this.

  • If you don't know how to sew, seek assistance from someone who does.
