How to Draw a Disney 101 Dalmatian

Disney films have brought several characters to life. From Bambi to the Lion King, some of the most popular remain the 101 Dalmatians. These spotted dogs are cute and you can have fun drawing one of them yourself.

• Pencil
• Paper
• Eraser

Instructions

1. Look at several pictures of the famous Disney Dalmatians. There are several popular ones like Pongo and Dipstick, and just by changing a few of the features, you can customize to become your own.

2. Start out by drawing the dog’s body. Extend the two front legs forward and make the chest stick out a little bit.

3. Add the tail to the backside of the body. The tail is not too long, but long enough to showcase a little wagging.

4. Create the dog’s four legs using your pencil and eraser. The paws are distinctive on the Disney version, so make sure that you create round paws as seen in the picture.

5. Draw a thick collar on top of the dog’s body. Add the neck and then the head of the puppy. The head should have a rounded top and puffy cheek.

6. Draw a stretched out W for the upper lip. Create a slight overbite when drawing the lower jaw and add two dimple lines on the side for a smile.

7. Add a rounded diamond shaped nose right above the center of the upper lip. Color this nose in completely black.

8. Create two large oval eyes in the center of the head. Fill in large black pupils in the eyes. This step is important because the eyes are a huge characteristic of a Disney Dalmatian.

9. Draw two large floppy ears on both sides of the head. The ears can either be spotted, completely black, or a mix of both.

10. Detail the puppy with shadows, spots, and even a dog tag if you wish. You can also color in the color red.
