1
Make sure your skin is clean. Odors from your skin can overpower perfumes. Also make sure that you never apply perfume to skin that is irritated. The irritation can have a smell, which can slowly overpower the perfume.
-
2
Make sure your skin is not too dry. Perfume will hold better to skin that is well moisturized. If you find that your skin is dry and you need to use a lotion to begin to repair it, choose a lotion similar in smell to your perfume or choose to wear your lotion and perfume at different times.

3
Learn where your pulse points are. The three best pulse points to spray or dab your perfume onto are the ones on your neck, wrists and the back of your knees. If these spots are real moisturized they will hold the scent even better.
-
4
Spray a small amount of the perfume onto your clothes as the fabrics will trap in the scent of the perfume. This, in turn, will cause the scent to linger longer.
-
5
Layer your perfume. After learning where your pulse points and applying the first spray or dab of perfume, wait a while and then repeat.
-
6
Learn to store your perfumes properly. Perfumes should be stored in a place not too cold or too hot. Make sure the lid is always securely covered to keep the perfume from evaporating.
