If your hair is dry and damaged from too much processing, or a few too many days in the sun, treat it to an easy and effective deep conditioner. The oils in the deep conditioner will moisturize your hair, leaving it shiny and healthy. Even your scalp will feel great.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2/3 cup cold pressed olive oil
  • 3 large egg yolks or 1/2 ripe avocado, peeled and mashed
  • 1 tbsp. honey
  • 1 Avocado
  • Microwaveable bowl
  • Plastic shower cap or plastic wrap
  • Large warm towel
  1. Step 1

Put the mayonnaise, cold pressed olive oil, large egg yolks or half of a mashed avocado and honey in a microwave bowl.

  2. Step 2

Heat the mixture in the microwave for about 10 seconds, until it's slightly warm.

  3. Step 3

Slather the mixture generously into your hair and work it through with your hands from the scalp to the roots.

  4. Step 4

Put on a plastic shower cap or wrap you head in plastic wrap, and secure it with a large, warm towel.

  5. Step 5

Leave the deep conditioner in your hair for at least 20 minutes and shampoo it.

Tips & Warnings
  • For an extra effective deep conditioner, plan to treat your hair when you won't be going out for a day. Apply the conditioner, leave it 20 minutes, and rinse it, but don't shampoo. Leave the remaining mixture in your hair for the rest of the day, and then shampoo it before you go to bed.
  • Massage any remaining deep conditioner into dry areas such as knees, feet or elbows. Rinse it off in the shower at the same time you rinse your hair.
