    Instructions

    Things You'll Need

    • Crayons
    • Cookie sheet
    • Iron
    • Wax paper
    • Grater or pencil sharpener
    • Aluminum foil
      • 1

Have your children help collect broken crayon pieces.

      • 2

Ask children to peel all of the paper off of the crayons and throw the paper away.

      • 3

Use a grater or a pencil sharpener to shred the crayons into tiny pieces of colorful wax.

      • 4

Let your children crate a fun design on the wax paper, which should be placed on top of the cookie sheet to contain any mess.

      • 5

Carefully fold the wax paper in half to cover the crayon shavings when you are done, or lay a second piece of wax paper on top of the artwork.

      • 6

Cover the wax paper with aluminum foil and heat the wax with an iron until the crayon wax is all melted.

      • 7

Let your children cut the "window" to shape once it has cooled and dried.

    Tips & Warnings

    • Wax messes can be easily scraped off of most hard surfaces with a credit card.

    • Do not let the children touch the stained glass until it is very cool.
