Dress Appropriately to a Cocktail Party

Step 1

Wear a semi-formal party dress. An appropriate outfit for a cocktail party is usually a flirty dress with some cute heels and a chic bag. The dress is usually mid-thigh or knee length. Long gowns are usually not worn at cocktail parties. Alternatively, you can pair a nice skirt with a beautiful blouse.
Step 2

Pair the dress with fancy dress shoes, either heels or embellished flats.
Step 3

Accessorize with some low-key jewelry. Save the heavy diamond jewelry for a more formal affair like a wedding. Wear a delicate necklace with some diamond stud earrings.

Always carry a cute clutch or small handbag. Large totes or shoulder bags will not match well with a short party dress.
