How to File a Yahoo! Messenger Abuse Report

Yahoo! Messenger allows you to chat in real-time with friends, join chat rooms or make phone calls from your PC. Sometimes, problems can arise if a Yahoo! user sends spam, makes threats or sends harassing instant messages. You can help stop abuse by filing an abuse report.

Instructions

1. Go to the Yahoo! home page, then log in with your username and password. Click on the "Messenger" tab to open the Yahoo! Messenger window. Or, click on the Yahoo! Messenger icon on your desktop if you have one to go directly to the IM program.

2. Click the down arrow in the upper-right corner from either the Yahoo! Messenger main menu or the IM conversation window. Select "Report Abuse" if you're being spammed or harassed.

3. Fill out the abuse support form that appears on the next page. Enter your name, Yahoo! ID and email address. Report the violator by entering that person's Yahoo! ID in the space provided.

4. Use the drop-down list of the next question to choose the nature of the violation. Click options that best identify the violation, such as harassment, indecent content or threats.

5. Type in any additional information in the next space to support your claim. Be more specific about the IM abuse.

6. Verify your identity by entering the secret code shown at the bottom of the abuse report page. It is required to prevent automated submissions like spam.

7. Press "Send" to submit the abuse report. The Yahoo! customer care team sends a violation notice to the abuser.

tried to go after me - a widow. heard his story before but the other man went by Steve. please remove him from yahoo and yahoo messenger.
