      Take a trip to Fairmount, Indiana. Find James Dean's grave at Park Cemetery, located at 102 East 1st Street, Fairmount Indiana, 46928. The cemetery is 1/2 mile north of Highway 26, just off Main Street. It is a short distance from his childhood home. Follow the Park Cemetery signs to get you to the cemetery.

      Park your car and enter the cemetery. There are signs inside the cemetery that point toward James Dean's grave. Follow the signs that point toward his grave.

      Find the Winslow family plot. Locate James Dean's grave inside the Winslow family plot. A simple, granite headstone marks his grave and reads: James B. Dean, 1931-1955.

  • Visit other famous James Dean landmarks while you are in Fairmount. After you visit his grave, see The Fairmount Historical Museum, The James Dean Gallery and James Dean Memorial Park.

  • The headstone you see at James Dean's grave is not the original headstone. The original headstone was stolen twice and was not recovered the second time. Thieves stole the present headstone once but it was successfully recovered.
