Instructions

    • 1

Avoid touching your piercing with dirty hands. Always remember to wash your hands before touching the navel piercing. Much of the care of your piercing is the same as if it were a new piercing. With a fully healed piercing, the requirements are not as crucial as they are with a new piercing.

    • 2

Wash your piercing site with anti-bacterial soap at least daily. Make it part of your shower routine. Use your shower time to rotate the jewelry in the piercing and to rotate the piercing forward and back or slide it up and down. This will ensure that you clean the skin inside the piercing and get oxygen to it to stay healthy. You can keep the anti-bacterial soap or Hibiclens right in the shower. Be careful not to pull hard on the jewelry because it could cause the piercing to tear or rip on the internal or external surface and then you will need to go back to the same routine as when the piercing was fresh.

    • 3

Work the jewelry back and forth through the piercing if you think you have gotten something in the hole. Bits of sand or dirt or water that has a high bacterial content all should be cleaned as quickly as you can to avoid giving them a chance to attack and start an infection.
