What bride doesn’t love shopping? For a very unique wedding shower, you can throw the future bride a shower with a shipping theme. Here are tips on how to throw a shopping theme bridal shower.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Party favors
  • Prizes
  • finger foods
  1. Step 1

Send out bridal shower invitations filled with fake (Monopoly-type) money. Add a note that tells guests to bring their money with them, as they will need it for some fun shopping games. You can also give instructions on how to earn more money such as bringing a gift from the registry, or bringing a gift card, being on time, bringing a dessert, or bringing wearing a certain color. Be creative and choose whatever you want.

  2. Step 2

Purchase items that guest can “shop” for. Stay away from clothing and shoes as it may limit what some women can purchase. Also stick to items you can get at a discount as you don’t want to blow your whole shopping budget on prizes. Get items like scarves, earrings, lotions, nail polish kits, and other girly stuff that women can always use. (If you can get everyone to bring a food or dessert, you will have more money for prizes.

  3. Step 3

Decorate for the shower and create a “store” area using bookshelves or tables to display all of the “prize” items that guests can purchases. Price the items high enough to keep one person from buying everything, but low enough for each person to be able to purchase at least two items.

  4. Step 4

As guests arrive, greet them with a handful of “money” and award them for meeting the challenges.

  5. Step 5

When the guests have had some refreshments, you can begin playing games. You can play price it right type games, get to know the bride type games, or anything that you choose. As each person wins a game, or answers a question correctly, allow that person to shop from your “store”.

  6. Step 6

Make sure every person gets a chance to shop, even if they don’t win any of the games, they would just need to go last.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don’t forget to allow plenty of time for the bride to open gifts, when all the shopping is done.
  • Consider the age and tastes of guests when you purchase items, try to buy things that will appeal to different people.
