There is no better way to entertain family and friends economically than asking them to a brunch. By combining the inexpensive elements of breakfast with the elegance of being invited to a brunch, your party will stand out as a special event to your guests.Certainly, you could run up the cost by choosing expensive dishes like tenderloin of beef, lobster newburg or shrimp scampi; but if you are on a tight budget, there are less costly ways to make the event special. Here are some tips that will make your next brunch a smashing success.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Get creative with things such as eggs, pancakes, french toast, bacon and sausage. Don’t forget that brunch is nothing more than a fancy breakfast. Let your imagination wander as you review a myriad of recipes you’ll find by simply typing “recipes, brunch” into any search engine.

  2. Step 2

Have plenty of salads for your guests to choose because they are very inexpensive to prepare and your guest’s plates will be brimming with variety and color. Also, you can integrate certain salad ingredients with entrees that you choose. For instance, serve scrambled eggs or an omelet on a bed of fresh spinach that has been lightly dressed with vinaigrette. Not only will your guests welcome the change of pace, they will feel healthier as they tackle the rest of the day.

  3. Step 3

Remember that bread is filling and it should be available to your guests before the entrées are served. Many of your guests have not eaten since the evening before your brunch, so it is likely they will appreciate having something to nibble before the main courses are served. Besides, bread is relatively inexpensive.

  4. Step 4

Have plenty of fresh fruit available for your guests, from the time they arrive to when they are looking for something sweet following the sumptuous meal they’ve been served. Not only is it relatively inexpensive; fruit is another way for your guests to leave happy and full.

  5. Step 5

If you decide to serve your guests alcoholic beverages, screwdrivers and bloody marys are very inexpensive because they are comprised of nothing other than fruit juice and inexpensive vodka. Step up if you wish and include mimosas as a choice because they are a simple combination of orange juice and cheap sparkling white wine. For children and those who wish to avoid alcohol, serve fruit juice.
