So you had a late night out the other night and now you need some damage control. Makeup will be your ally in your quest to look as if you've received some beauty sleep. Simple tricks can highlight your eye and give the wonderful illusion that you got a full eight hours of rest. And if you actually did get a full night's sleep-then these tips will just serve to enhance you!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Foundation that matches your skin tone
  • Eye shadows with sparkles in them
  • Lavender colored eye shadow
  • Concealer stick
  1. Step 1

Take your favorite foundation and apply it from the inside corner of your eyelid to the outside. Then apply in the same manner just below your eyebrow.

  2. Step 2

Lightly set the entire area with pressed powder. This serves as a visual trick to "fool the eye" and make your eyes appear as if you've gotten more sleep than you may have. The entire eye area is instantly lightened once foundation is applied.

  3. Step 3

Apply an iridescent eye shadow over your entire eyelid. Lavender works nicely with green or blue eyes. A sparkly taupe or green works well with brown eyes. The shimmery quality of this kind of makeup deflects light and highlights the eyes beautifully.

  4. Step 4

Run a concealer stick in the semi-circle skin area underneath your eyes. Set with powder. If you chose a shade slightly lighter than your normal foundation, this will give a bit of light to your eye area and make your eyes stand out.

  5. Step 5

If you're comfortable with the look, run a black eyeliner on the outside corners of your eyes and inward toward the center. This will give you an edgy "cat woman" kind of look and the black eyeliner is a great contrast with any shade of eyes.

  6. Step 6

Finish off your look with a nice coat of mascara. This enhances the contrast of your eyelid and eyes and makes your other makeup stand out. Now you're ready for a night on the town or a day in front of the cameras!

Tips & Warnings
  • Buy the best make up that you can afford. Cheaper brands tend to smudge, wear off quickly or crease in the folds of your lids-all defeating the purpose of highlighting those pretty eyes.
  • Don't choose a concealer stick that is too many shades lighter than your foundation or you will end up with "raccoon eyes."
