How to Use the Pattern Stamp in Photoshop
The Pattern Stamp tool allows you to stamp the size of a pattern on your Adobe Photoshop CS3 canvas. There are several defaults of patterns that can be used with the Pattern Stamp tool, or you can customize your own. Follow the steps below to find out how to use the pattern stamp to your Photoshop creation.

Start Adobe Photoshop CS3 and create a new, blank canvas or open an existing document to which you would like to add a pattern stamp.

Select the "Pattern Stamp" from the Photoshop toolbox on the left side of the screen. Hold the mouse over the Clone Stamp, and then select the "Pattern Stamp" from the pop-up menu. Notice that when you choose the Pattern Stamp, the properties for it are listed at the top of the Photoshop screen, just beneath the menus.

Choose the brush size from the "Brush" drop-down list and change the mode if you would like. Set the "Opacity" and "Flow" to suit your preferences.

Click the arrow beside the pattern box to view a drop-down list of the patterns that are available to use with the Pattern Stamp. Select one from the list by clicking on it.

Hover your mouse over the canvas where you would like to use the Pattern Stamp. You will see that your mouse turns to a round brush shape when you do this.

Left-click to add a brush circle of the pattern you have selected. Hold down the mouse and drag to get a line of the selected pattern. Continue using the Pattern Stamp on your canvas until you are happy with the results.
