Gather your materials. Fabric or craft stores have everything you need. Select a fabric that appeals to you or to whom you are making this bookmark. Elastic cord comes in a variety of colors and sizes. Choose cording that compliments the fabric.

Fold the fabric lengthwise and sandwich the cardboard in the middle. Glue down both sides of the fabric to the cardboard. Smooth out any air bubbles and let dry.

      • 3

Trim the excess fabric to the size of the cardboard. Punch a hole 1/2 inch from both ends of the bookmark.

      • 4

Laminate the bookmark by placing it between two sheets of self-laminating material. Smooth out any air bubbles and cut to size. In the same place as the last holes, use the hole punch to put a hole through the lamination. This will make your book mark more durable.

Cut the elastic cord to twice the size of the book. Securely, tie one end of the cord to one end of the bookmark and repeat with the opposite ends.
