Things You'll Need:
- a beach or lake shore
- sharp eyesight
- a bag or pocket to hold the sea glass
-
Step 1
Whenever you visit a beach or shore, keep your eyes on the sand looking for beach glass. Don't get distracted by driftwood or shells. Look for the gleam of glass.
-
Step 2
Lean forward to get a better view. Don't let your shadow fall in front of you. Let the sun fall on the sand, so you can see the sea glass.
-
Step 3
Look for the lines formed by the high tide and low tide. Poke around, stirring up the accumulations of sand, shells, and driftwood there. Watch for the colorful shine of beach glass.
-
Step 4
Wander along the beach at low tide to see what you can find. Going early can help. Visiting the beach after a storm often is rewarding as beach glass is brought in by the pounding waves or uncovered by the wave action.

on 7/28/2009 I have that Pure Sea Glass Book. It's fun trying to identify what kinds of glass your treasures came from.
