Kids love listening to music and singing along to their favorite songs. For a fun, easy-to-do activity, you can make a personalized microphone for your kids. Grab some basic supplies and make this great craft as a family project.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Toilet paper tube or paper towel tube
  • Black construction paper or tissue paper
  • Craft glue
  • Scissors
  • Stickers
  • Glitter pens
  • Aluminum foil
  • Tape

Step1
Find a toilet paper tube or a paper towel tube. Cut the tube down to about 4 inches. You will make the microphone's handle out of this tube.
Step2
Take a piece of black construction paper or tissue paper and cut a piece 4 inches high with the scissors. Use the glue to add the paper to the tube. Wrap it around one time and use the scissors to cut off the excess paper.
Step3
Decorate the covered tube with stickers or glitter pens.
Step4
Rip off a large piece of aluminum foil and scrunch it into a ball. Stuff the bottom of the ball into the top of the tube. Push until it is secure and place tape around the base of the ball connecting it to the microphone's handle.
Step5
Turn on some music and sing your heart out with your new microphone.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can also use a wrapping paper tube cut to size.
  • You can customize the microphone handle to fit your style. Use a different color paper to wrap the handle or use paint to decorate the tube instead.
  • To further decorate your microphone, add streamers, strips of construction paper or even ribbons to the bottom of the microphone with tape.
  • Do not give to this toy to children below the age of 4.
