How to make homemade chalk

A 'fun to do' with you and your child(ren).

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

• 2 Tblspns. of Plaster of Paris from a craft or hardware store
• 2 Tblspns. water
• Small plastic sandwich bag
• Paper cup
• Mixing Spoon
• 2 Clothes pins
• Clothes line or hanger
• Food coloring

1. Mix the water and plaster of Paris in the paper cup.
2. Mix in a few drops of food coloring.
3. Pour the mixture into the bag.
4. Roll down the top edge of the bag making sure to mold the mixture into a tube shape.
5. Clip the closed bag to hanger or clothesline keeping the tube straight across.
6. Wait a day for it to harden. Then unwrap your chalk and let it dry out another couple of days before using it.
