Not many of us can forget that famous scary scene in the movie "Poltergeist" where a young boy is attacked by his crazy-looking clown doll. This magical movie moment may have brought a scream and then a laugh from most fans, but the possession and paranormal activity involving a doll is not unheard of. The harmless looking Raggedy Anne doll named Annabelle has caused problems in the past.

Things You'll Need:

  • An appointment at the Warren Occult Museum
  1. Step 1

You'll find the famous Annabelle at the Warren Occult Museum in Moodus, Connecticut. Run by Lorraine Warren, the famous paranormal investigator of the Amityville Horror case and now frequent guest on the television show "Paranormal State," Annabelle is housed in a glass case to limit her mischief.

  2. Step 2

The story goes that the Raggedy Anne doll was purchased as a gift for a college-aged daughter in 1970. Activity was first reported by the owner and her roommates when they would find things moved about their house and find strange messages written in a childish scrawl.

  3. Step 3

The activity grew as the doll would move herself throughout the house and eventually was found to have attacked a resident! It was then that the women called a priest, who then called in the Warrens to investigate.

  4. Step 4

A medium told the owners that the spirit in the doll was that of girl named Annabelle who used to live on the property. The Warrens felt that the doll had been possessed by a demon and removed it from the area.

  5. Step 5

Although now housed in a glass case at the museum, Lorraine Warren relates that the doll still moves about occasionally and had previously been heard to make low growling noises when approached by clergy.
