Pretzels are a whimsical and unexpected crafting material that can be used to make a variety of craft projects. Anything from seasonal wreaths to charming picture frames can be made from pretzels. Pretzel crafts don't require any special equipment and are easy and quick to assemble.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Small pretzels
  • Wax paper
  • White craft glue
  • Spray polyurethane
  • Seasonal decorations
  • Cardboard picture frame
  • Craft paint
  1. Step 1

Start with small pretzels and arrange then on a piece of wax paper in the desired shape. The sides of the pretzels should touch.

  2. Step 2

Apply plain white craft glue to the "joint" of the pretzels, where their sides meet. Let dry completely.

  3. Step 3

Add a second layer of pretzels with more glue to each joint. Let dry.

  4. Step 4

Seal your pretzel craft project with a couple of coats of spray polyurethane and let dry overnight.

  5. Step 5

Decorate your pretzel craft project with ribbon, buttons and seasonal knick-knacks.

  6. Step 6

Apply sealed pretzels directly to projects, such as cardboard picture frames. Before you apply the spray polyurethane sealant, paint the pretzels with craft paint, for even more detail.

Tips & Warnings
  • Pretzels must be sealed with polyurethane or shellac otherwise the craft projects may be eaten by mice or damaged by water.
  • Never try to use hot glue on an unsealed pretzel. It will not adhere to the pretzel surface. To assemble any pretzel craft, it is best to use plain white craft glue. You can use hot glue on sealed pretzels, to add decorations and other embellishments.
