Obviously, your baby cannot write thank you notes for him or herself, so you need to write the notes.
Once you know how to write thank you notes for baby gifts, you'll be able to finish them in no time at all.
A thank you note doesn't need to be long and drawn out. It just needs to recognize the effort that the person made in giving you a gift. In these days of electronic communications, many people are tempted to simply send an email as a thank you note. However, a handwritten note is much more impressive.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • stationery
  • pen
  • stamp
  • envelope
  1. Step 1

First, buy stationery that fits your personality. Some people prefer to buy cards that have "Thank You" already printed on it while others prefer to have blank cards that can be used for everything.

  2. Step 2

Write the date in the top right corner.

  3. Step 3

Start your letter with "Dear ________". In most cases a thank you note is somewhat informal and so it's OK to use the person's first name.

  4. Step 4

Start writing the thank you message. Make sure that you specifically mention the gift that the person gave. (e.g. "Thank you for the adorable onesie that you gave.") It's also nice to mention how the gift will be used. (e.g. "I'm sure that this will quickly become a favorite outfit and we will get much use out of it.")

  5. Step 5

Sign your name. Some people like to include the baby's name as well.

  6. Step 6

Put the note in an envelope.

  7. Step 7

Address the envelope to the receiver.

  8. Step 8

Place a stamp on the envelope and put it in the mailbox.

Tips & Warnings
  • Some people like to include a picture of them using the gift. In the example above, you may want to send a picture of your baby wearing the onesie that the person gave.
