How to Win EBay Auctions

At one time eBay was a website primarily used for buying and selling antiques and collectibles. Now, everything from used clothes to new electronics are sold. While you can usually find great deals on eBay, winning the bid is another story. Here is my secret recipe to winning eBay auctions with low bids.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Instructions

1. Type your desired item into the search field on the eBay home page. The search field can lead to some better deals than when you solely use the EBay category function for Ebay Auctions or auctions like ebay.

2. Sort the results by the eBay auction listings ending soonest. This allows you to see all items on top of the screen that are ending within a few minutes.

3. Select the eBay auction listing you would like to purchase. If it is ending within 5 minutes, click "Bid Now." If it is ending an hour or more away, click "Watch this Item." Watch your clock and bid when the auction will be over in 5 minutes.

4. Enter your highest bid amount into the right field. Make your bid is an odd number. For example, instead of bidding $10.50, bid $10.53. This will make sure you automatically bid over anyone who bids $10.50 or those that bid $10.51.

Tips & Warnings

• Make sure you bid your highest amount. More than likely, you will not have time to counter bid if you are not the highest bidder.
• Make sure your clock is set to eBay's clock; 1 minute makes a huge difference.
• Leave yourself enough time to confirm your Ebay bid. Waiting until the very last second could lose you your bid.
