Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Step1
Start the round by having one player, who is called the "caster," throw a die to determine a number between five and nine. This number is called the "main." The caster must continue to throw the die until a number between five and nine obtained.
Step2
Roll both die if you are the caster in this round. If you roll the "main" number, you win. This is called rolling a "nick." You also nick with a 12 if the main is six or eight and nick with an 11 if the main is seven.
Step3
Lose the round if you "throw out." This happens if you roll a two or a three (called a "crab"), roll an 11 or 12 when the main is five or nine, roll an 11 with a main of six or eight or roll a 12 with a main of seven.
Step4
Roll the dice again if you neither nick or throw out in your original roll. (The number thrown in this roll is called the "chance" number.) When throwing after you've rolled a "chance," the rules change to: you win the round if you roll the same chance number, you lose if you roll the main.
Step5
Continue to roll if you do not roll the chance or the main until you get one of these two numbers.
Step6
Keep playing as the caster until you lose three times in a row. At that time you pass the two dice to the player on your left hand side, who then will become the caster.
