How to Make Money With Surveys As A Teenager
Teenagers who are at least 14 years old and who have access to the Internet can complete online surveys to earn money. Online survey companies compensate registered users for sharing their opinions on consumer products and social and political topics. Answering surveys typically earns a person $1 to $3 and takes one minute to 30 minutes to complete. A teenager can't expect to get rich by taking surveys, but if he registers with various sites and maintains a clean track record of answering questions truthfully, he can make enough money to cover monthly expenses, such as gas and entertainment.

Answer questions truthfully. Surveys include "trick" questions periodically to test whether the survey taker is paying attention. The questions instruct the respondent to click a certain answer. If a respondent isn't paying attention or is filling out answers randomly, the survey's program will detect the incorrect responses and disqualify the user from receiving credit for that particular survey.

Clear your Internet browser's cookies in between surveys from different companies. Certain survey companies share the same host site, so you may get disqualified when one site recognizes cookies from the other. If you don't know how to clear your browser's cookies, click "Help" on your browser and type in "clear cookies" in the search box to learn how to do it.

Wait to hit the payout threshold before cashing out. Rewards for completing surveys include money, gift cards or other prizes, such as magazine subscriptions or merchandise.

Tips & Warnings
On rare occasions, surveys may pay higher amounts up to $50 for reviewing products that are sent to your home or by having you record your daily habits for a set period of time.
To determine whether a survey site is legitimate, check its privacy policy, which should be displayed prominently on the site's homepage. The privacy policy should state that your personal information will never be sold to outside parties.
Survey companies pay their users either through a mailed check or via PayPal. PayPal users need to be at least 18 years of age to create an account, so if a survey site offers the option for payment through PayPal, you will either have to request a mailed check or ask a parent to create a PayPal account to which you can have supervised access.
If a technical issues arises, e-mail the company through its "Contact Us" tab and provide any necessary information to help them determine a solution to the problem.
Registering to take surveys is free. You should never have to pay to take a survey. You also will never be asked for your Social Security number unless you earn more than $600 in a calendar year, in which case the company will request this sort of information for tax purposes to send you Form 1099.
Survey companies record the speed in which answers are submitted and test the attention of the respondent with "trick" questions instructing the user to click on a certain response. If your behavior raises red flags or you receive too many disqualifications for inappropriate response time and answers, you may be barred from ever completing surveys from that company again.
