Step 1
Have good dental hygiene. Brush and floss regularly, see and follow your dentist's guidelines for good dental health.
-
Step 2
Choose several essential oils or just use one. All these oils work great for teeth and gums pick one that you know you will like to use.
Chamomile Roman (Athemis nobilis)
Cinnamon (Cinnamomum zeylanicum)
Clove (Eugenia caryophyllata)
Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare)
Lavender (Lavendula officinalis)
Myrrh (Commiphora myrrha)
Peppermint (Mentha piperata)
Tea Tree (Melaleuca alternifolia)
Thyme (Thymus vulgaris) -
Step 3
Research the essential oil(s) to make sure that you don’t have any health conditions that you shouldn’t use that essential oil with.
-
Step 4
Add a bit to your toothbrush, add a few drops to some warm water or brandy or vodka to use as a rinse. See tips for details on these methods.
-
Step 5
Know that the method you choose can be used once or twice daily and it’s easiest to use them when you would normally brush your teeth. This way you can just add to your daily routine and not have to go out of the way to use the essential oils. If you are just using the essential oils for general health or prevention you can use the essential oils several times a week.

on 5/26/2008 Good article. I use Peri-Gum (easier and probably cheaper than buying all the ingredients --- unless you already have them).
