Are you frustrated because you cannot print out the entire email you were sent? Is there a picture in an email you received on your computer that just won't print? Or, perhaps it does not come out of your printer the way it looks on your display.

Let this quick guide ease your frustrations and get you on your way to printing the emails you want to save.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer with Internet access
  • A working Yahoo email address with either Yahoo email classic or the newer version

    Printing Out Emails in Yahoo

  1. Step 1

Open up Yahoo your Email, (either Classic or new version) click on your Inbox to view messages.

  2. Step 2

Double click (or click on the subject line to open if using Yahoo email classic) the message that contains the desired message or photo you wish to print.

  3. Step 3

Locate and click the "printer icon" (the picture looks like a printer) on the top of Yahoo email or go to the File menu at the top of your web browser and click "print."

If you are using Yahoo email classic, they have a selection (once you are inside of an email message) on the top--to the right of the screen that allows you to click "printable view."

A new window will open up and your entire email will appear. Click "print," which is underlined, at the top right of the screen.

  4. Step 4

A dialog box will pop up and ask you to confirm, click the "OK" button on the bottom of the screen.

  5. Step 5

Your entire yahoo email message should print out fully (not just the header). This is good for articles, messages and photos you wish to keep.

  6. Step 6

Bear in mind that one page on the screen is not equivalent to one printed page, in fact, it may be quite a few more pages.

If you only wish to print one page: select file, print and click on the second radio button in front of "pages 1 of 1."

Or, specify 2 or 3, for example. If you know it will run into more pages.
Click the "OK" button at the bottom of the box to start printing.
You can always reprint if it doesn't print correctly.

  7. Step 7

These steps will work for either Yahoo email classic or the newer version of Yahoo mail.

Tips & Warnings
  • Practice printing out a few emails until you get comfortable. Also practice locating the buttons and getting familiar with the screens.
  • Take it slow.
  • Send emails, articles and photos to yourself for additional practice printing.
  • Don't try to take it too fast.
  • Pay attention to which screen you are in and what window is open so you print the correct email.

on 3/27/2009 I found this very helpful. I click on "Print" at the top right hand corner of the message and it prints the whole message, the text being the right size.
