Instructions

    • 1

Prepare a book with a racy cover. Hollow out the book with your utility knife. Then attach 4 pieces of foil to the book. Place two pieces of foil on the spine of the book with a small space between. The other two pieces should be placed on both outer edges of the book.

    • 2

Make your shocker. Attach your momentary pushbutton switch to either pole in the battery holder. Secure two wires to the low voltage side of the transformer and two wires to the high voltage side of the transformer. Connect the switch part of the relay to the positive pole of the battery holder.

    • 3

Attach the low voltage wires. Make a connection between one low voltage wire from the transformer and the other side of the relay switch. The other low voltage transformer wire attaches to the negative pole of the battery holder.

    • 4

Test the shocker to make sure it's working properly. Put the battery in and the relay should start clicking. If you touch the two high voltage wires from the transformer together, they should spark.

    • 5

Take the battery out of the shocker and attach the shocker to the book. The mechanism should fit into the hollowed section of your book. Connect one high voltage wire to one piece of foil on the spine and one piece of foil on the edge of the book. Connect the second high voltage wire to the other two pieces of the wire.

    • 6

Position the switch so that it closes the relay when the book is closed. Glue your adult picture onto the cover of the book so that the wire is concealed. Plug the battery into the holder. Make sure you do not touch the foil while doing this. Close the book.

    • 7

Place the book in an obvious place. Curiosity won't kill your friends, but it will shock them.
