The Greco-Roman period refers to the period when Rome assimilated Greek culture into its own. While the cultures joined, the art during the era maintained the separate characteristics of the cultures. Figurines for this period can be classified as Roman figurines, Greek figurines, Roman Imperial art or Greco-Roman art. Figurines are referred to as miniatures or sculptures.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

Visit the Greco-Roman Museum of Alexandria in Egypt. Many Greco-Roman artifacts have been donated or found during archeological digs in the area. Get a feel for the art of the period by walking through the museum's 27 halls and garden. The museum hosts a variety of artifacts from the Greco-Roman period. Rooms 11 and 12 in the museum host sculptures and figurines.

  2. Step 2

Tour other museums. The Roman Empire was one of the largest empires and spanned several countries. Museums in Britain and around the world preserve figurines from this era. Modern reproductions are often sold in the museums' gift shops.

  3. Step 3

Go to eBay's website and type "Greco-Roman figurines" into the search engine bar. Hit enter and view the results. Click on the results until you find one that interests you. You can also search for "Greek/Roman figurines."

  4. Step 4

Shop online. The Rome Gift Shop gift shop offers several figurines depicting Roman figures like Praetorian guards, gladiators and emperors. Another online gift shop is The Old Gift Shop, which offers pewter figurines based on Ancient Rome.

  5. Step 5

Search for figurines based on Greek and Roman gods. Greek Mythology continues to be a popular subject today. The gods of the Greco-Roman era had both Roman and Greek names.
