Things You’ll Need:

• Small amount of start up cash.
• A name for your business.
• The address of your County Clerks office.
• Your social security number.
• Your states "Division of Revenue" web address.
• A small business checking account.
• A credit card.
• An Ebay account.
• A Paypal account.
• A World Wide Brands account.

1. Go to your County Clerks office to register the name of your business. You will be asked to look through a record of business names to make sure that the business name you have chosen is not already being used. After investigating the name, you will need to complete a "trade name" application. Upon completion, you will be charged a small fee for registering the name. Here in NJ, it is approximately $55.00.
2. Register your business with your states Department of Treasury/Division of Revenue. Here in NJ, you can register online or by mail. I applied online by going to http://www.state.nj.us/ and following the online business registration links. I chose to establish a Sole Proprietorship. After completing the registration, you will receive a FEIN number. This will be your social security number.
3. The state will mail you a Certificate of Authority, a Business Registration Certificate, and a EIN (Employee Identification Number). You will find that your tax registration number will be your SSN. I did not want my SSN to be present on all business transactions for everyone to see, so I called NJ Client Registration and asked to have a "re-number" to change my Tax Registration Number from my SSN to my EIN. You can do this too if you like. The change took a couple of weeks to complete. Upon completion, you will receive a new Certificate of Authority and Business Registration Certificate showing the change.
4. Open a Small Business checking account. I chose a bank with a favorable location and zero fees. I decided on Washington Mutual and opened an account with $100. Make sure to bring your Certificate of Authority, Business Registration Certificate, and identification.
5. Open a PayPal account! "www.paypal.com". You will need a valid email address to link the account to.
6. Open an Ebay account! "www.ebay.com". I chose to list items separately then to open an Ebay Store because it was less expensive. Start small and if necessary open a Store!
7. Open an account with WorldWideBrands.com. After months of research and looking for legitimate Drop Shippers online, I came across World Wide Brands. They investigate, hand choose, and make a continually updated list of legitimate drop shippers and wholesalers. It is up to you to look through the many drop shippers and contact the ones that provide the products you want to auction on Ebay. They charge a one time fee and your subscription is for a lifetime. Well worth it!
8. List and sell your items on Ebay, drop ship them, and start making money! Good Luck!
