Wearing red is symbolic on this day because many people associate red with heartfelt emotion. Choosing the right outfit to wear on Valentine's Day is essential and it must have a bit of red in it.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

Browse through your closet, and see if there is anything in there that is red. If so, take it out of the closet and try it on.

  2. Step 2

Think about the shade of red that looks best on you. There is scarlet, maroon, burgundy and many other hues of red.

  3. Step 3

Try on the piece of red garment that looks most romantic to wear on Valentine's Day. If the red garment is not appealing to the eye, it's time to go shopping.

  4. Step 4

Visit your local department or clothing store. Choose at least three pieces of red clothing that you think your significant other would like on you.

  5. Step 5

Ask a salesperson if she thinks that the red garment is attractive and would be appropriate for Valentine's Day.

  6. Step 6

Buy the piece of red clothing that's most romantic to wear on Valentine's Day.

  7. Step 7

Accent your red outfit with another color to break up the outfit a bit. Choose a color that compliments the red on Valentine's Day. For example, green and red would not be appropriate. White or pink would be good choices instead.

  8. Step 8

Accessorize your red attire with a piece of clothing or jewelry that's significant to both you and your Valentine's Day date.
