Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pencils (regular or art pencils)
  • Scanner (optional)
  • Colored pencils, pastels or paint (optional)
  • Paper (standard or specialty)
  • InuYasha figure drawings

    Get the Right Supplies

  1. Step 1

Choose a medium. Creating pencil sketches of InuYasha characters is rewarding, but requires practice and patience. You can also choose to draw InuYasha characters with the help of a computer, using PhotoShop or a similar program to add your own expressive elements to existing drawings.

  2. Step 2

Visit a proper art-supply store if you're going the old-fashioned route. A set of artist's pencils can help greatly in achieving the look you want. Use sketch paper to practice as you learn to draw, but as you improve, you may want to consider using finer paper stocks on which to draw.

  3. Step 3

Select a means to color the InuYasha characters you draw if you decide to fill in your pencil sketches. You can color using pastels, high-quality colored pencils or your choice of paints.

  4. Learn to Draw InuYasha Characters

  5. Step 1

Hobby retailers can help you find general books about drawing anime and manga characters. Spend some time getting accustomed to the overall style of the form and learning basic shape and line patterns. Also, check out the online tutorials at a site like WannaLearn.com (see Resources below).

  6. Step 2

Cheat at first. Find some pictures of the InuYasha characters you want to learn to draw, tape them to your window and put a blank sheet of paper over the top of them. Then, you can trace the character to practice.

  7. Step 3

Move on to drawing InuYasha characters on your own, using existing drawings as a guide, but not tracing the outline. Stick to the general principles of manga drawing and drawing in general, using the larger shapes to define the figure, and then filling in the features afterwards.

  8. Step 4

Practice makes perfect. Continue to challenge yourself as you master the basics with the eventual goal of being able to create your own lifelike InuYasha scenes.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you're an absolute beginner, start by learning how to draw in general before applying your knowledge to manga characters.
