Every bride wants to make their wedding special, unique and memorable. One way to do this is by choosing a unique wedding centerpiece that adds that special touch to your wedding reception. Here are a few tips to help the ever so busy bride-to-be select an unusual wedding centerpiece.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Choose your overall basic wedding theme and colors before choosing your centerpiece. Use your theme, colors and some imagination as a springboard for creating your unique centerpiece.
Step2
Schedule a meeting with your florist and wedding coordinator to discuss how you can incorporate the use of flowers into your unique centerpiece. For example, if you have an ocean theme, consider using a centerpiece that utilizes live fish. Your florist can help select flowers that are "fish friendly" to use in a bowl arrangement with the live fish. After the reception, you can either give the fish away to your guests or take them home to your own aquarium. Remember, you do not have to be limited to the traditional floral arrangement.
Step3
Choose the "guts" of your centerpiece, whether it is something more traditional like pillar candles or something more modern like white ostrich feathers in eiffel vases. The guts of the centerpiece can also be thematic; such as sand castles or birdhouses. These will be the basic building block of your centerpiece.
Step4
Select your container. For instance, the ocean theme using live fish will probably require bubble bowls. Containers can include urns, eiffel or trumpet vases, mason jars, oversize martini or wine glasses and much more. The sky is the limit in creating your unique centerpiece.
Step5
Fill the container. This is an extra design element that helps bring your unique centerpiece to life. Simple things like citrus fruit arranged cut side out, colored water with underwater lighting or coffee beans that fill a cylinder vase are great ways to add that special touch to your centerpiece.
Step6
Wrap the container! Make it something stylish that adds an extra touch of class such as multi-layered satin ribbons.
