1
Look through your desk or your purse for a safety pin.
-
2
Pin it up. Use the safety pin to keep the loose hem from unraveling any more and to keep it level.

If you can't find a safety pin, look for some tape. Most offices have a variety of tape types available. Most any will work for this, but packing, duct or clear paper tape work best. Tear off a piece and tape the loosened part of the hem. Fold the fabric up where it's supposed to be, and affix the tape to the fabric, taping the fabric to itself on the inside of your pant leg. This will hold for a short time.
-
4
Attempt to clip it down. If your hem is intact, you can use a paper clip to keep the fabric from loosening even more. In the middle of the loosened hem, attach a paper clip with the fold of the bottom of the pant leg deep in the curve of the paper clip.
-
5
Staple the hem down. This is a last resort if all other methods fail. use as few staples as possible, because this may damage your fabric.

If you use tape as a temporary fix, remember to remove the tape before laundering. If you forget, it will turn into a nasty, sticky mess when you decide to take the tape off. -
