An unbalanced bass or treble can ruin the experience of listening to your favorite songs. A dominant bass will produces lows that sound too deep, making it difficult to hear the rest of the music. A dominant treble can make music sound tinny and empty. Follow these steps to set the bass and treble levels on a Rio Karma MP3 player so that they work harmoniously to replicate the music as the artists intended.

Rio Karma MP3 player

Step1

Make sure the power of your Rio Karma MP3 player is turned on. If not, press the "Power" button located on top of the player and wait for the player to initialize.

Step2

Press the "Menu" button located above the player’s screen on the left. The Main Menu will appear on the screen.

Step3

Highlight "Equalizer" on the Main Menu. Select "Equalizer" by pressing the Rio Stick located in the center of the button cluster on the front of the player.

Step4

Select "Bass & Treble" on the Equalizer menu screen. This will bring up the Bass & Treble option screen.

Step5

Use the player's rotary wheel to select either "Bass" or "Treble" on the screen. You can only adjust one option at a time.

Step6

Change the settings of either the bass or treble with the Rio Stick. Once the setting is where you want it, move to the next option.

Step7

Select "Done" to save the bass and treble settings. If you want to return to the Equalizer menu, select "Cancel."

Tips & Warnings

You can adjust the bass and treble by 12 dB.
You can also use preset settings on the Rio Karma MP3 player for different music genres.
Adjusting the bass and treble improperly could cause the music to sound bad.
