You can use Autostar to automatically align your viewing objects. It's easy, saves time and leaves you free to do what you enjoy--stargazing! Here's how it works.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Meade LX-90 Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope
Step1
Go to the "Align Option" screen. It should say "Setup: Align." Press "Enter."

Step2
You can now select the alignment. It should ready "Align: Easy." Press "Enter."

Step3
Now you should set your home position using the Alt/Az Home Alignment position. (See the information on automatic alignment.)

Step4
From this point, Autostar will choose two stars to use for alignment. You will need to bring them into the eyepiece's field of view. Choose a prominent star for the first alignment star.

Step5
Use the arrow key and move the telescope to focus the star and center it in the eyepiece.

Step6
Press "Enter."

Step7
Repeat for the second star.

Tips & Warnings
