How to Add a Podcast Badge to Your Blogger Blog Post

Blogger.com is a Web site that is easy to use for posting your blogs. It offers free user-friendly features that allow you to exchange thoughts, communicate with people, post picturesand much more. One feature many bloggers are using is the Podcast badge, a feature that looks like a button used to provide a link. Here's how you can add a Podcast badge from Yahoo to your Blogger Blog.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Create an account at Blogger.com. Follow setup instructions, and then you will be taken to the startup blog page.

  2. Step 2

    Name your blog.

  3. Step 3

    Choose a template, and follow the instructions for creating a template.

  4. Step 4

    After you create your template, you will have user options. Click on the "Dashboard" option.

  5. Step 5

    Once you are in your Dashboard, click on "Posts."

  6. Step 6

    Click on the "Posting" tab.

  7. Step 7

    Click on "Create," and you can enter anything you would like to say in the text area.

  8. Step 8

    Open a new window in Internet Explorer. Go to the Yahoo homepage, and from there link to the podcast area (see link below). Once there, go to "Publish a podcast," then go to "Yahoo! Podcast badges."

  9. Step 9

    Copy the HTML coding from the podcast badge of your choice.

  10. Step 10

    Go back to the post page, click on the "Edit HTML" tab, and paste the HTML coding into the text box.

  11. Step 11

    Click on the preview link to view your Yahoo podcast button.

Tips & Warnings
  • Follow directions carefully so you don't have to go back and repeat any steps.
  • Take your time. There are many options to choose from.
  • Both Yahoo and Blogger have help features, so take advantage of them if you get stuck.
  • Use the Blogger Beta Version when creating your blog account, as it has more features.
  • Save your login information.
  • Don't try and type in the HTML coding for your podcast badge. More than likely you'll end up with a bad link as a result of a typo.
  • Don't forget to save everything after each appropriate step.
  • If you lose your information you will have to start over.
