Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Switch to products that can handle the heat. Look for long-wearing or waterproof mascara, choose eye pencils over liquid liners, and switch to shadows that harden to a cream once applied.
Step2
Go light. Line the upper lash line, or settle for a sweep of a light shadow. Shadow from lash line to brow is more likely to cake or crease in the heat, and darker colors will be more apparent if they bleed.
Step3
Skip eyeliner and mascara on the lower lashes. It's likely to streak in the sweaty under-eye area.
Step4
Set eye makeup with a light dusting of loose powder. This will help absorb any moisture that may cause eye makeup to melt.
Step5
Use a non-powdered blotting paper to remove any under-eye perspiration when you do notice streaking. Wipe away any eye makeup with a clean cotton swab.
Step6
Reapply faded makeup sparingly.

on 5/2/2007 Best solution for an eyeshadow that stays put is using a Primer such as Loose Powder or the Eye Primer from Mary Kay. I applied it on my friend and her family (it was her wedding) this last weekend & it worked WONDERS! For starters, the wedding was in South Florida and we were all sweating like crazy. Since I helped w/ the makeup my first worry was: will she look perfect all afternoon and well into the evening? The answer: Yes! I didn't have to touch up the make up at all :-)

on 8/8/2006 To keep your summer look fresh, less definitely is more! Even though some say you should try a tinted moisturizer, I find them too greasy (unless you have dry skin, feel free to use them in the Summer). But for normal or oily skin, it's just too darn oily. I prefer a sheer powder makeup or a loose powder. Loose powder is much heavier then pressed powder because it is fluffier. I recommend Benefit Bluffdust, which is a pale yellow powder that compliments anyone and makes you look beautiful, warm and sweet, and it really evens your skin tone.
For acne, and anything else you would like to cover, I don't recommend liquid or creme concealers (which will melt or settle into fine lines). I recommend a stick concealer, which are mostly multipurpose. It can be used for acne, scars and dark circles. I recommend Benefit It stick or MAC concealing stick, which are both wonderful. Simply smooth on some loose powder and cover some areas that can't be seen with a stick concealer.
As for eyes; some powder eyeshadow and some waterproof mascara (limit to only 1 -2 thin coats), and if you must a gel; eyeliner like Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel eyeliner.
For cheeks; a stain would be nice but so are powders like MAC Blushes (powder forms) the shade 'Dame' compliments anyone. It's a sheer, build-able, coverage pink.
For lips; Bobbi Brown Lip Tints are simply wonderful.

on 6/30/2006 I wrote a report on tattooing and permanent makeup for school not too long ago. I would like to point out that permanent makeup is painful, costly, has many health risks, including HIV, involves quite a bit of blood, and is hard to remove. So if you are thinking about having it done, please look it up and decide if it is worth the risks.
As for keeping makeup fresh, I have found that creamy eye shadows are easier to use in the summer. A little water applied to the makeup should revive it, and it also makes it easier to touch up.

on 11/22/2005 If you MUST wear eyeliner even when you are at the beach, Bobby Brown has the best to offer. The gel eyeliner works wonders. It doesn't smear, it's waterproof, lasts all day, and wears bright all day long. (And no, I don't work for Bobby Brown.) It's like a creamy black mix and is applied on with a thin brush. Once you get the hang of it, you will never go back to pencil liners.
